THE OMARI PROJECT

TOP is a non-profit, non-political with membership of over 1000 active individual who use drugs in 3 registered harm reduction network in Kenya. Founded in the year 1995 as Community based organization of various drug users who have undergone the denial of human rights, denial of better health care, education, arbitrary arrests by the police, sexual assault, witnessed fellow sex workers who use drugs murdered with no one caring and poor policies protecting the minority group, The Organization aim for advocacy for Economic Empowerment among Key Population (KP); to access better health care and economic stability, through institutional capacity building and strengthening, human rights and work with like-minded groups; advocate for favorable environment for KP through contributions to policy development to create a better working relationship between KP the law enforcement agencies while encouraging KP to report violations and criminal activities within their knowledge.
