Being a muralist 4 decades I always wanted to be a guitar player. After beating cheap guitars mostly and loving synthesizers the Ibanez IMG2010 Midi Guitar was invented in 1985 and I ran across one in a music store in Dallas Texas, and purchased one. The guitar needed a synth, and the first rack mount was Oberheim Matrix 6R (meaning 'Rack mount'). Now, thirty seven years later, my 'rack' has five tone modules, synthesizers without keyboards and a bunch of effects processors all pointed at making a gripping electric guitar sound. When I embraced Open Tuning in the early 80's on my acoustic I realized Open Tunings worked on Midi Guitars as well with it's tracking system. My goal musically, these days, is to play acoustic Open Tunings and Synthesis. I am reaching out to like minded guitarists to advance this type of guitar work in the spirit oh Michael Hedges. I am bringing a graphic artists view of the guitar and scales to the table.
